This image of lava flowing into the sea is composed of 11 individual shots taken at 200mm. I took them after sunset, so that the red reflection of the lava hitting the water would be visible. You had to walk a mile or so over a previous lava flow to get to the spot where I took these shots. My niece (age 7) and my nephew (age 12) were with me, and I thought there would be a fairly constant barrage of complaints, but they were fascinated by the scene (there were hundreds of other people there), and mostly by the idea that the earth was flowing like water into the ocean.
