This image of an offshore rock is composed of 15 individual shots taken at 200mm. It was 5:18 and just before sunrise. The coastline at Biddeford Pool is archetypal Maine. At high tide, this well worn rock looked like it was floating on, rather than protruding from, the ocean. I used a neutral density filter so that I could make long exposures (30 seconds), which further smoothed out the water.
