This image of a cloud during sunrise is composed of 4 individual shots taken at 560mm. Obviously this is inspired partly by Alfred Stieglitz's long series of cloud images he called, the Equivalents. However, I wasn't thinking about Stieglitz's images when I shot this–I was simply reacting to the light on the cloud. When I was working on the image on the computer, I did follow Stieglitz's lead and drop all references to land from the image, except for the seagulls–they seemed integral, somehow.
