Product Description

Location: Coxsackie, New York • Date: 8/3/10 • Standard Print (w & h): Image: 37.8" x 18.2"

This image was taken on South River Street in Coxsackie, a village south of Albany on the Hudson, and is composed of 5 individual shots taken at 28mm. The image was taken just after sunrise, but I did not rotate the camera on the panorama head in the usual fashion. I took the five individual shots from five different vantage points the same fifteen paces out from the front of the building. When I first saw this building I thought immediately of the Edward Hopper painting, Early Sunday Morning, (1930, Whitney Museum of American Art: New York, New York). I went back to Coxsackie a few times in order to capture the images so that they would both fit together and retain same frontal viewpoint as in the Hopper painting which is nominally based on buildings on Seventh Avenue in New York City.
